The number of persons hiring a houseboat must not exceed the number of berths provided. The person driving a houseboat must be over the age of 18, or in some cases 21 years of age (check prior to booking),and hold either a current drivers or a boat operators licence, and all maritime regulations must be abided by.
Houseboats must not be driven at night. Instructions on handling the boat is given before departure. Under no circumstances are firearms, axes, chainsaws and trailbikes allowed. Pets are usually not permitted on board.
Houseboat proprietors reserve the right to refuse permission to board at their discretion.
Rates, including GST, are for the cost of the houseboat regardless of the number of people on board. A deposit will be required to confirm a booking, with the balance of the hire fee usually required 6 - 8 weeks in advance. The cost for fuel used must be paid for on completion of hire. Before boarding, a security bond will be payable. This fee is usually between $500 to $2,500. All Rates are subject to alteration without notice.
Please note: This cancellation policy is widely accepted by Association Members, however, Members reserve the right to specify individual cancellation policies.
In the event of the cancellation of the booking, no money will be refunded until the houseboat is re-booked for the relevant hire period. A rebooking fee may be charged and deducted from the refund. Where booking cancellation occurs and the houseboat cannot be rebooked for that hire period the owner reserves the right, at its discretion to retain or refund all or part of the monies paid.
